First of all, make sure the cable you are using is a good and high-quality data cable. If not, please try another one

If your car supports a USB-C to USB-C for Apple CarPlay connections, you should try first to use a USB-C to USB-C
For some cars, you need to use an extra power cable (See picture attached), also called a Y cable
